Represented institutions

Institute of Marine Research (IMR) CDCF coordinates the technical assistance by experts from the following Norwegian institutions:

Institute of Marine Research (IMR)
IMR is the largest Centre for marine research in Norway. IMR is a scientific adviser to the Norwegian authorities regarding aquaculture, marine resources and environment.

Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries (FDir)
The FDir is an advisory and executive body, for the Norwegian Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs, in matters pertaining to fishing and the management of aquaculture.

National Institute of Nutrition and Seafood Research (NIFES)
NIFES is a research institute associated to the Norwegian Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs. The institute gives advice to the government, food authorities and the aquaculture- and fishery industries regarding fish feed or on safety of seafood consumption.

Norwegian Veterinary Institute (NVI)
NVI is the advisory body to Norwegian Authorities on matters relating to prevention, diagnosis and management of infectious diseases in fish and terrestrial animals.

Norwegian Food Safety Authority (NFSA)
NFSA is a governmental body responsible for ensuring that water and food products are safe for consumption. NFSA is also responsible for all Norwegian legislation in matters related with food production and distribution. NFSA has an advisory role for three governmental ministries in Norway: the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Ministry of Health and Care Services and the Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs.
