Tetsuo Yanagi

Tetsuo Yanagi defended his Doctor degree of Science at Kyoto University in 1978.  He has been working as Professor of Coastal Oceanography at Ehime University and from 1997 at Research Institute for Applied Mechanics (RIAM), Kyushu University.  Between 2008 and 2012 he served as Director at same institute.  Since 2014 he has been working as Principal Investigator of International EMECS center.   Dr. Tetsuo Yanagi received the Prize of Japan-France Oceanographic Society (1986) and the Prize of Good Book in Ehime Prefecture (1989).  He has been member of SAP of IGBP/START/SARCS from 1993 to 1997 and SSC member of IGBP/LOICZ from 1993 to 1998.  His Main books are “Coastal Oceanography” (1999) Kluwer Academic Publishers, Dordrecht and “Sato-Umi; A new concept for coastal sea management” (2007) TERRAPUB, Tokyo.
