Hydroacoustical instruments such as sonar and echosounders are used to find and monitor the fish stocks. In combination with samples from trawling, the data from echosounders and sonars can tell us very much about the fish stocks size and age distribution.
The results from the cruises are very important inputs to the advisory process when our scientists shall give their best advice concerning the management of our fish resources.
