Distribution area: From Ireland to Greenland, the Skagerrak, Kattegat, the western Barents Sea, and in Norwegian fjords
Main spawning areas: The coast of south and mid-Norway, south and southwest of the Faroese Islands and around Iceland.
Time of spawning: April–June
Diet: Fish and crustaceans
