Recognizing the above challenge and the experience acquired by the Nordic countries in the implementation and policies related to spatial management measures, including MPAs, as well as in the use of broader spatial management frameworks, the Nordic Council of Ministers requested the organization of a workshop aiming at bridging the understanding of fisheries and conservation practitioners, and translating this experience into more practical guidance for the effective utilization of this tool.
