Working with:
Ole B. Samuelsen, group Fish Health has long experience in fisheries research. The research focus has been with analysis of xenobiotics from biological matrixes, environmental effects of drugs used in fish farming, pharmacokinetics and studies of the efficacy of antibacterial and antiparacitic drugs. Using fatty acids as markers, study the spreading of organic waste from fish farms to the environment, sediment and fauna.


Brief details of interests

1) Develop analytical methods (HPLC) for the analysis of antibacterial and antiparasitic drugs from biological matrixes.
2) Pharmacokinetic studies of pharmaceuticals in fish and shellfish.
3) Efficacy of pharmaceuticals in the treatment of bacterial infections and ecto-parasites in fish.
4) The persistence of pharmaceuticals in organic sediments and the effect on non-target species.
5) Using fatty acids and stable isotopes of C and N, study the spreading of organic waste from fish farms to the environment (sediments and fauna).
