Arbeider med

Jeg arbeider med bunndyrssamfunn i subarktiske og arktiske marine havområder.

Barentshavet er mitt spesialområde hvor jeg, i lag med mine Russiske kollegaer fra PINRO, har utviklet et langtids overvåkningsprogram for endringer i utbredelse og fordeling av bunndyr. Dette skal brukes i miljøovervåkningen som inngår i Forvaltningsplanen for Barentshavet og Lofoten.


Jeg arbeider også med kongekrabbens effekt på bunndyrslivet i Norske fjorder. Porsanger fjord i Finnmark, Nord Norge, er mitt spesialområde.
 

Emner som inngår i mitt arbeid med bunndyr er: kartlegging, produktivitet, bærekapasitet, beiteområder for fisk og evertebrater, invasjon av fremmede arter, effekter fra klimaendring, bunnfiske og annet fysisk slitasje.

1990: Marine expedition with the research vessel "Magnus Heinason" (The Faeroe Island). Sampling with Sneli-sledge, bottom-dredge, bottom-trawl, Mc-Intyre grab. Sorting and identifying of marine animals.
1993: Marine expedition to the Kara Sea with the Russian research vessel "Dalnie Zelensi". Sampling with van-Veen grab, Niemesto Core and Mini-CTD.
1993: Studies at Murmansk marinbiological Institute (MMBI) (Russia).
1994: Co-operation with Russian colleges in Tromsø (Norway).
1994: Marine expedition to the eastern part of the Barents Sea, Kolguyev, Cheskaja bay and the White Sea with the Russian research vessel "Vsevolod Beryozkin". Sampling with van-Veen grab, Niemesto Core and Mini-CTD.
2001-2003: Post-doctoral scientist on the project: “Effects of the non-native red king crab Paralithodes camtschaticus in Chlamys islandica beds (Finnmark fjords, northern Norway)?” Monitoring including diving, video, and sampling by hand.
2003-2008: Research scientist at IMR
