Biography
Elena Eriksen is citizen of Norway and Russia, born 07 January 1970 in Krym, USSR, where she completed school in 1987. Eriksen moved to Astrakhan, USSR, to continue her education. In 1987-93 she completed high education in “Ichthiolog-fish-farming” at the Technical Institute for fisheries. Eriksen started almost simultaneously to work at the Caspian Research Institute for fishery (CaspNIRKH), Astrakhan, Russia. Eriksen’s professional experience includes practical work as laboratory assistant (1988-92), and as engineer (1992-93), and research positions as scientist (1993-97) at the Caspian Research Institute for fishery. Eriksen is Norwegian offspring and she moved with family to Norway in 1997. Eriksen studied Norwegian language and completed computer courses in Bergen. Since 1999 she worked at the Institute of Marine Research (IMR) as 1 advisor (1408). Eriksen continued to study and takes Master degree in “Fishery biology and management” at University of Bergen. Since 2006 she worked as scientist (1108) at IMR. Eriksen has two children, and resides at Sandsli near Bergen.
