The signing ceremony took place at the residence of the Norwegian Ambassador in Ottawa, Canada, and strengthens the already broad and good cooperation between IMR and DFO.
During the meeting between IMR and DFO it was agreed upon to focus on the following four themes in the years to come:
- Aquaculture
- Environmental Impacts of Energy Development – Offshore Oil and Gas
- Ecosystem Science
- Climate Change and the Arctic
It was also agreed upon preparing a detailed overview of ongoing projects between IMR and DFO, develop new joint projects with the four themes, and have annual meetings between IMR and DFO. Responsible person at IMR to follow up the MoU is Erlend Moksness.
