New report: Status of the Barents Sea Ecosystem

IMR and the Russian marine institute in Murmansk, PINRO, have published a thorough report on the status of the ecosystem of the Barents Sea in 2005. This is the first of what is planned to be an annual publication.

Through this report, IMR and PINRO give an overview of their up-to-date knowledge of the Barents Sea ecosystem. In addition, the report includes a general presentation as well as a chapter on the effects of fisheries and pollution on the ecosystem.

The report is a contribution to the stock assessment of the ICES Arctic Fishery Working Group and to the implementation of the Norwegian Management Plan for the Barents Sea.
