Dr Alan H Pickaver

A senior executive with nine years experience in grant-making organisations and a total of twenty-five years international management experience in the environmental field, co-ordinating specialised staff in order to achieve specified conservation and sustainable use goals within an agreed time-frame; very experienced in evaluating scientific findings; and with effective verbal and written communication skills bridging the gap between science and policy-makers. Currently working as the secretariat of a major granting foundation to conserve areas of outstanding natural beauty in Central and eastern Europe as part of Europes Natura 2000 and Emerald network and as Head of Policy in an international non-governmental organisation in the fields of integrated coastal zone management, climate change, biodiversity in European coastal areas and the development of a European marine and coastal ecological network.
