1. Fôr-til muskel overføring av kjemiske kontaminanter


Om fremmedstoffer i fôret kan gir fare for matvaretrygghet er avhengig av deres emne til å overføres til de spiselige deler av fisk. Sammen med RIVM i Nederland har NIFES utviklet kompartment-fysiologiske modeller som beskrive overfôring og transformering av fremmedstoffer fra fôr til muskel.

2. Fremmedstoffer I fôr påvirker fiskes helse


Vi bruker biomarkører, som for eksempel celle deling i tarmen, for å bestemme effektnivåer av fremmedstoffer i fiskefôr som kan gir muligens påvirke fiskes helse.

3.Nye fremmedstoffer i fiskefôr


Nye fôringredienser medfører også nye fremmedstoffer som før ikke har vært tilknyttet til oppdrett av fisk og som kan  påvirke fiskes helse og/ eller matvaretrygghet. Utfordringen i å identifiserer nye kontaminanter er mangfoldet av potensielle nye kontaminant grupper som kan finnes i de nye fôringredienser (f. eks. pesticider, medisinrester, mykotoksiner). Sammen med IUPA i Spania skreener vi for fremmedstoffer i nye fôringredienser og deres overfôring i den akvatiske matproduksjonskjede.
