FAO (2013-2014):  Member of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS), (part of the FAO organisation), the High Level Panel of Experts (HLPE) on Fisheries and Aquaculture in developing countries. 
Norad:             Responsible for Norad activities at NIFES; as part of the agreement between Norad, NIFES, IMR, Directorate of Fisheries, and NFSA, where NIFES expertise on Feed and food safety, and food quality, are inputs in these projects.  During these years, and until 2014 (when Norad-agreement was terminated) NIFES had project activities ongoing in Cuba (establish aquaculture activity), Sri-Lanka (seafood quality), Mauritius (legislations), and expected to come in Angola, Mosambique and Indonesia (the two latter are both asking for feed expertise, and still under discussion). 
NFSA (Norwegian Food Safety Authority):  Responsible for all surveillance projects at NIFES, and communication with the Food Authorities on behalf of NIFES;  Surveillance programs ongoing in 2013 and 2014

Hemre

NIFES sitt laboratorium er samlet i ett forskningsprogram, for å få til god samhandling, effektiv fornying av instrumenter og metodikk, og ledes av forskningsdirektør dr. Gro-Ingunn Hemre. Laboratoriet leverer akkrediterte analyseresultater til Mattilsynets overvåkingsprosjekter, og utvikler metodikk i samarbeid med forskerne ved NIFES.

Å samle laboratoriene ved NIFES i ett forskningsprogram har som mål å effektivisere bruk av utstyr, og sørge for en god dialog med forskningsprosjektene slik at riktige metoder er tilgjengelige for forskningen og overvåkingen til enhver tid. Riktige resultater til riktig tid er et viktig grunnleggende prinsipp.

I tillegg til å lede laboratoriene ved NIFES, og overordnet ivareta kommunikasjon om kontrakter med Mattilsynet, er fokus på næringsstoffbehov når fôret består hovedsakelig av ikke-marine ingredienser. Dette inkluderer deltakelse i EU-prosjektet ARRAINA, og ledelse av arbeidspakke 3 (WP3). I den arbeidspakken har vi gjennomført behovsstudier med laks og kartlagt behov for enkeltnæringsstoffer ved hjelp av moderne design, og bruk av tidlige biomarkører.

Fisk er viktig for å møte verdens behov for mat (matsikkerhet), og er nå i fokus som viktig kilde til mikronæringsstoffer i FN organet ”Committee on World Food Security (CFS)”. CFS har opprettet et ekspertpanel “High Level Panel of Experts (HLPE)”, der NIFES bidrar med ernæringskunnskap. Å være medlem av Vitenskapskomitéen for mattrygghet (VKM) sin hovedkomité gir en bred erfaring og nettverk innen mattrygghetsområdet. Også å være medredaktør I det internasjonale tidsskriftet Aquaculture Nutrition gir en fin mulighet til å holde seg oppdatert innen området fiskeernæring.
