The Coastal Zone Ecosystem Programme
The overarching objective of this programme is to generate knowledge that will provide a basis for developing advice for the authorities in all areas that concern marine resources and the environment in the Norwegian coastal zone.
Tasks and sub-goals:
- Resources monitoring and provision of advice regarding coastal stocks.
- Coastal and fjord environments.
- Biological production.
- Marine biological diversity and tolerance limits.
- Marine conservation areas as management tools.
- Introduced species.
- The EU’s Framework Water Directive.
- Dissemination and implementation of research results.
