Curriculum Vitae

Maria Wik Markhus works at the Research Group of Seafood and Nutrition, Institute of Marine Research in Norway. Maria does research in Nutrition and Dietetics. Currently leading the project Mommy’s Food a randomized controlled trial studying the effects of cod intake in pregnancy on iodine nutrition and infant development.

Working on the connection between seafood, mental health and child development (intervention studies and cohort studies). Nutrient in seafood (seafood data), methods for mapping seafood (questionnaire, interview), biological markers for seafood intake (validation of questionnaire, nutritional status). Has a master's degree and a doctorate in nutrition (UiB / NIFES). State-authorized bioengineer with special expertise in blood testing of infants and children.
