I am a PhD fellow at the department of biology, University of Bergen and my work place is at NIFES. The main focus of my research is mercury toxicity in seafood and the interaction of seafood nutrients with mercury.

I study the bioaccumulation and biomagnification (increase through the food chain) of mercury in the Norwegian wild fish species and why there are geographical variation within single species. The second part, investigate how seafood nutrients (mainly selenium and omega 3 fatty acids) ameliorate the toxicity of mercury in seafood.
