The Influence of
Climate Change on
North Atlantic Fish Stocks

 

The main objective of the Symposium "The Influence of Climate Change on North Atlantic Fish Stocks is to present current knowledge of climate impact on fish stocks and how this may be used in fisheries advice and management.

Contributions are solicited for the following areas of research as well as others the authors propose and that are considered particularly relevant:

· The impact of climate on the distribution and migration of fish populations
· The effect of climate variability on growth, maturity, recruitment and mortality
· The role of zooplankton in climate-fish relations
· Taking account of climate in the evaluation of the state of fish stocks
· Managing fish stocks under future climate scenarios and in the face of climatic uncertainty

1 December 2003: Deadline for abstracts
15 February 2004: Notification of acceptance of contribution
15 March 2004: Registration deadline for reduced fee
11 May 2004: Symposium *

* Pre-registrations are accepted to May 8. Those who have not pre-registered will be able to register at the Symposium for 3000 NoK.
